Thanks to a site visitor named Melody, I've been able to establish contact with a Cherokee named Josh Standing Bear who is very interested in having the descendants of Solomon and Seaberry Osborne recognized as Cherokee Indians. Click the "Read More" link to see the email I received from Josh and also for information on how to help. This is very exciting and I hope that those of you in the line are able to help!
This is Josh and this is what I want to relay to the family, I am carded and want my entire family to be recognized for their heritage and I want to set the record straight to the BIA and to the Eastern Band at Qualla, Old Ned Sizemore was 100% Cherokee whom real name was Ned Sixkillers whom was also a Chief of the wild potato clan, clan bear clan. Solomon was too 100% Cherokee as was his wife Martha Seaberry Arms daughter of Chief Runningbear, Chief of the wolf clan. There is no English in those bloodlines what so ever!!! , a lot of "OUR" family has never been justly recognized for whom they really are " CHEROKEE" pure and simple, no ENGLISH exist in those bloodlines. Solomon did re-marry after Seaberry passed to a Susanna Nichols Moore a widow and had children together, Susanna not native but their offspring still 50% Cherokee blood and needs to be recognized, the Nation at Qualla doesn't want anymore roll members as it would cut into their portion of the poison money from the Casino, I don't give a squatt about their piddly casino percap checks, just about the rest of my "DISPLACED FAMILY BEING FULLY RECOGNIZED FOR WHOM THEY ARE", far as I am concerned they can drown in their money greed as that is not a part of what our people were before the white man, it was a culture of harmonious people working together in the clans to live and survive and to teach our children the ways the creator gave us to live by, money was not involved in the ways but white man's poison has turned our own people against our own people with greed , money, drugs, alcohol, we forgot our ways and the way the creator taught us to live by the ways he gave us. I would hope that ALL Sizemore's and Osborne's would want to participate in the quest to get their real recognition once and for all, I can lead the battle but they must be all in as a group to get it done, we need co-operation from all to get all documents together for Native rights Attorney to bring before the BIA in D.C To get their fed roll # and then to the Qualla Council to get them installed into the Tribal Rolls, it can be done but all has to be one group together and working together with what ever it takes to win the battle and documents are extremely important. When this is said and done then ALL OUR FAMILY can rest for then they would have won the battle for themselves and their children, no more guess work, they can then say, YES I am Cherokee. Yes Melody it will take all the Sizemore's and all the Osborne"s that have been wrongfully displaced to get it done, and all the info that we can put together for the rest of the family to conquer this quest, some concrete information that can virtually slam dunk this win for the family we have discussed. It would do my heart good as well as a lot of our forefathers spirits to know that we are continuing the battle for our people and most of all for our displaced family and I am sure that both Solomon and Seaberry will again walk with us on this journey as well as our other forefathers spirits will also. They couldn't kill all our people on the trail as a lot evaded and even the ones that walked all the way it was not intended for them to make it there, they thought all would die on the trail, but they could not kill our spirit. It is time once again to walk but this time to walk for our culture and the people that we are, Cherokee, Strong, Brave, Fearless and we walk with the Creator. Don't be apart of death to our culture, fight like our forefathers did and we can win as a group a clan of mixed clans seeking their rights in their culture.
