We just completed some upgrades on the forum. Send me a PM if you notice any problems. Everything looks to have transferred fine.

Hi Rob,

Based on verbal tradition, I am pretty sure my line is from the NY area after coming from England. Don't have proof yet, as there's a gap in some of the docs I've seen... but I am sure the line is there.

Welcome to the forums. Sorry I don't get on here as much as I would like to.

Can anyone tell me if they have any information on the second wife of Wilburn Osborne? I believe she was Isabel Young Laxton. Her half-brother was John Webb who boarded with the Osborne family in 1880. I would love to find someone descended from Isabel. She had several children, and I believe one of her daughters married a Neal. I appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Joe

Welcome!

To my knowledge, I'm not aware of any.  Through verbal tradition, it is believed that my line (through Solomon and further back) came from the New York area.

But to have any written documentation, I'd love to find that myself!!

Hello.....I am new to this site and recently have begun researching my genealogy.  Among other lineages, I am an Osborne that has roots in upstate New York and before that, Connecticut (Hartford area) and most likely Massachusetts.  Would like to know if anyone is aware of any published books or documents that reference the Osborne's from these areas.  It seems there are quite a number of descendants in the Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virgina areas.  Somehow I'm sure there is an ancestor that is a link for us all.

Would love any help or suggestions from all of you 'cousins'...!!

I'm extremely novice with this so go easy on me.....

Regards,
Rob O'Connor :)

Hello all....My name is Rob O'Connor and I recently started tracing my Osborne roots.  My g-g grandmother Minnie Osborne was born 1855 in Hudson, New York.  Her roots go back to Connecticut sometime in the early 1800's or late 1700's.  Anyone out there who may have come across some Osborne's from this part of the country?  I'm guessing at some point we're all cousins, etc.

I am searching for my Cherokee ancestor, Agnes Osborn/Osborne- born about 1819-22 and.. Agnes married Orren Jenks born  1817. Their child: Malinda Jenks- Born 1861 was my great grandmother said to be full cherokee. I also believe one generation back from this With a Charles Jenks born 1792 married a Perces/Persis... I think they were Cherokee as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! My sister & I have been searching endlessly to connect the pieces of our family tree. you can contact me at polar6bear9@hotmail.com

Welcome to the boards!

I hope someone will be able to provide you with your links.  I've not seen the names mentioned in my research, but there's a LOT of Osborne's out there I'm finding.  I will keep an eye out though.

Hello, board...I'm a new person to the board.  I would like to know if anyone has info on Osbornes in KG County VA.

My Great, Great Grandfather was Daniel Osborne.  I don't know exactly where he was born but he was married to Emma Beverly also from KGC.  He was a person of color, so mulatto, black and possibly native american applies.  The only source I have is a 1900 census that establishes his DOB as 1869.  My Great Grandmother was Viola Osborne (Brewer married name).

The family later moved to Wash DC.  Any assistance would be much appreciated.  This has stumped our family forever.

Thanks in advance, M. Hammond
